The big event is this weekend, and I am busy putting all of the pieces together.
So at the beginning of this year, I decided I wanted to meet as many of my new online friends as I could.
In March, Jenni from @gobeyontravelwriter invited me to lunch at her place in Malibu. We had met online through Instagram, and I enjoyed spending some time with her and meeting her in person.
In May while John and I were in Ireland I met Hilda from @overthehilda. Hilda and her husband, Graham, invited us to their lovely home in Malahide for a delicious Irish breakfast and then a stroll along the Irish Sea.
In July I met Barbie from @barbieholmes and Angie from @theagelessrebellion in Ventura for lunch. We had a blast and laughed for hours. I’m pretty sure the restaurant had to kick us out so they could close.
In September Cindy from @cindyscurry flew in from Colorado to meet me here in Santa Barbara for a whale watching trip. We had so much fun and it feels like we are sisters.
And a few months ago Catherine from @catherinegraceo approached me with her idea for a big event in LA this fall.
She is the founder of Forever Fierce Revolution and believes in connecting midlife women to help build a stronger community.
When she asked if I would help with her event, I was honored to accept.
She worked hard, with her team, from conception to putting all of the last-minute details together this week. She came up with the title: FierceCon but describes it as a connection, not a convention.
And she has invited 100 women to join.
The three-day ‘connection’ starts this Friday with a welcome reception, and spouses are included. I’m up early coordinating all of the fun for Friday night, and there is still a lot to do.
So you may not hear much from me this week, but if you follow me along on Instagram and Facebook, you’ll get to see the fun there.
I am thoroughly enjoying finding and getting to know so many women “my age” and excited to share them with you too.
