Our well-being encompasses so much more than just diet and exercise.
I’ve shared my wellness journey with you here each week, and you’ve seen me try several different diets. I have talked about exercise and the importance of movement as well.
But one area I haven’t put enough attention on, is my mental well-being.
I was feeling agitated and even a bit depressed and realized I had let my surroundings, my sanctuary, become cluttered and messy. When my space is messy, my brain gets confused and I lose my ability to be my usual happy self.
So I spent the day fixing that.
My house is now clean and fresh, laundry is done, and I even went through the piles of papers on John’s desk. I have fresh flowers on my table, and one of my favorite candles burning.
Next, it’s time to go get a pedicure and get a little pampering in. My poor toes are definitely not sandal ready, and I’m way over due for a proper pedicure.
It will feel even better going to the Farmer’s Market later, knowing I’m coming home to a clean, clutter-free home that I love and draw energy from.
Our mental state and emotional health is equally as important as our physical health. Let’s not forget to do the things that make us comfortable and content, as well as getting fit and having fun.
